Fathers 4 Justice target South Somerset

February 16, 2007, Yeovil Express (UK)---THE Fathers 4 Justice group is setting up a charitable arm - separate from its direct-action activities to work with young offenders from fatherless families.

The move follows its failure to find a voluntary sector partner to work with on a national fundraising event. Matt O'Connor, the campaign group's founder, said he had been approached by numerous charities wanting to learn from the organisation's campaigning techniques, but none had been willing to become an official partner.

"We're not surprised by the wishy-washy response," he said. "Charities tiptoe around the issues and worry too much about saying the wrong thing, instead of telling it like it is."

Fathers 4 Justice will donate the proceeds from its planned fundraising event to a charity working with children from fatherless families.

Fathers 4 Justice also invited fathers from across the South West to join them in Bristol later this month for the launch of a new campaign for more rights for fathers. This new campaign will lead to more protests with landmarks ,roads and bridges in the South Somerset area being temporarily closed.

F4J is using it as its national springboard for a tour of the UK in the coming weeks in the build up to our Fathers 4 Justice London fathers day protest march in June.

The organisation is about to launch a new campaign with a new theme and a wave of spectacular direct action protests on national and local landmarks which could include possible targets at Glastonbury Tor, Sherborne Abbey and local council buildings in Yeovil.
