Jon Davies is to lead the charity as its CEO, and Georgina Brereton becomes FNF’s first Policy and Information Officer. Families Needs Fathers is pleased to announce these appointments at a time when the issues of family breakdown and children’s and parents’ rights are at the heart of public debate. Jon Davies has had a varied career, and comes to FNF from managing Sure Start and Children’s Centre programmes, with a background in local government, the NHS, and teaching. Georgina Brereton will be the first point of contact for FNF’s outside partners offering an evidence-based approach to family policy. The new appointments have been made possible by a Capacity Building grant awarded by the Department for Education and Skills and come during a period of growth and development for the child welfare charity that aims to keep both parents involved in their children's lives after family separation. Families Need Fathers’ chair John Baker said 'We are immensely looking forward to Jon bringing us into a new era, underpinning a volunteer–led organisation with a professional management and support structure, and are confident that his appointment will help to bring Families Need Fathers into the centre of debate surrounding Family Policy.' |
